NueHealth acquires Blue Chip Surgical Partners, HCA to open provider-based ER in Las Vegas & more — 5 key notes on ASC companies

Hospital Corporation of America’s Far West Division, a network of California and Nevada surgery centers and hospitals, is opening a provider-based emergency room in Las Vegas. HCA plans to open the ER in fall 2016.

NueHealth acquired Blue Chip Surgical Partners and will assume full ownership of Blue Chip Partners and 11 of its ASCs. The majority of Blue Chip’s ASCs are focused on orthopedics.

Tenet Healthcare reported adjusted EBITDA of $613 million for the fourth quarter of 2015, down 5.1 percent compared to $646 million in the fourth quarter of 2014.

At AAOS’ Annual Meeting last week, AmSurg discussed possible orthopedic surgeon opportunities at AmSurg-affiliated surgery centers. Angie Duncan, an AmSurg employee in their Physician Recruitment Services division, presented options to AAOS attendees.

Surgical Care Affiliates’ total net operating revenues reached $1.1 billion for the full year 2015, up 21.6 percent from $864.7 million in 2014.
