Novant Health makes $1.8B impact with network of outpatient facilities, medical centers

Novant Health had a local economic impact of $1.8 billion in 2018, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

Three quick insights:

1. Over a three-year period, Novant saw a 20 percent increase in its economic impact throughout the 10-county area where it has four medical centers, a hospital, doctors’ offices, outpatient facilities and imaging centers.

2. The Winston Salem, N.C.-based health system’s economic impact was calculated using data on net operating revenues, salaries, wages and benefits, and capital expenditures.

3. Altogether, Novant operates nine outpatient surgery centers in the state, along with 12 medical centers, 26 diagnostic imaging centers, eight outpatient rehab centers and over 530 physician clinics.
