Karl Storz, Smith+Nephew align to support ASCs

Smith+Nephew has formed a partnership with medical device company Karl Storz to deliver integrated surgical and visualization solutions for orthopedic procedures, including sports medicine. 

The collaboration combines Smith+Nephew’s joint repair, biologics and resection technologies with Karl Storz’s imaging, 3D visualization and OR integration systems. The companies aim to deliver streamlined tools that enhance efficiency and clinical confidence to orthopedic surgical teams, according to a Feb. 12 news release. 

The companies will coordinate go-to-market efforts for hospitals and ASCs, particularly in multispecialty environments where sports medicine procedures are performed.
