Geneia surveyed 400 U.S. physicians in January 2015 and conducted a follow-up survey in July 2018. Fifty-one percent of respondents practiced at a physician-owned or independent practice, and 43 percent practiced in a hospital or corporate-owned setting. Six percent practice in another type of ownership model.
