Health First receives zoning approval for $508M Florida hospital and wellness village

Health First received zoning approval from the Brevard County Commission on July 19 for its proposed $508 million hospital and wellness village in Merritt Island, Fla., Florida Today reported.

This puts Health First on track for its 2025 facility opening goal.

The hospital is expected to be seven stories, with 120 hospital beds.

The current hospital, Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, Fla., plans to close its doors when the new hospital opens.

Health First's facility will have medical offices, an education center, retail space, restaurant space, a parking garage and child care.

The building will sit on 15 acres of land and have park land between the buildings.
