What you should know:
1. Ophthalmology and plastic surgery services could be added to the ASC’s offerings.
2. Green Mountain Surgery Center Manager Amy Cooper said she doesn’t yet know when the center will open.
3. The center received approval to offer gastroenterology, pain management, OB-GYN, orthopedics and general surgery upon opening, with the expectation it would later expand services.
4. Ms. Cooper said physician availability decreased during the lengthy development process and that she now expects lower case volume for gastroenterology, gynecology, pain management and general surgery.
5. It’s unclear when the state board will make a decision on Ms. Cooper’s request, which was made at a board meeting April 16.
