What makes it great: Fremont Surgical Center’s longest standing accomplishment has been the implementation of its electronic health records system because the center deployed the system before it even opened its doors to the public. In addition to implementing an EHR, the facility has the capability to measure patient satisfaction and collect pathologies electronically in addition to other standard applications, says Steve Henry, administrator of FSC.

Physicians and staff members also work together diligently to ensure delivery of excellent, cost-efficient patient care. “Physicians concentrate on providing high quality care and provide input on day-to-day decisions,” Mr. Henry says. “Staff members realize cost-savings, such as supplies; in turn, FSC provides a bonus incentive plan based on cost-saving indicators.”

Ultimately, this results in lower out-of-pocket expenses for patients visiting FSC without compromising the quality of care. The culture of teamwork at FSC is apparent in the results of the center’s 2010 patient satisfaction survey: The patient satisfaction rating is 95 percent.

Since each physician and staff member has clearly outlined duties and responsibilities, FSC is able to run efficiently without risking high employee dissatisfaction. The center’s employees are also able to enjoy good benefits, including health, dental and life insurance and 401K.
