GE Healthcare acquires The Camden Group — 5 key notes

Barrington, Ill.-based GE Healthcare will acquire Chicago-based The Camden Group, a population health and strategic advisory firm.

Here are five key notes:

1. GE Healthcare Camden Group will be the U.S. business unit of GE Healthcare's global advisory firm.

2. The Camden Group provides services to more than 2,000 healthcare organizations.

3. The combined company hopes to offer consulting services on population health management, value-based care and clinical integration.

4. GE Healthcare is expanding its ability to offer analytics-based solutions for enterprise-wide healthcare outcomes.

5. Details about the transaction were not disclosed.

"We are positioned well to assist clients as they navigate through post-healthcare reform and transition into value-based care," said Daniel J. Marino, an executive vice president of GE Healthcare Camden Group.
