Florida Robotic Surgery Center to Perform 3 Live Cases

The Baptist Health South Florida Center For Robotic Surgery, located at Baptist and Doctors Hospitals (Miami) will perform three live robot-assisted surgeries Thursday, Feb. 27.

The surgeries, part of a program entitled “Look In On Us,” will be broadcast for free via a webcam, according to a news release. The showcase schedule includes:

  • 9 am EST — Robot assisted prostatectomy, performed by Fernando Bianco, MD
  • 12 pm EST — Robot assisted hysterectomy for endometrial cancer, performed by John Diaz, MD
  • 4 pm EST — Robot assisted myomectomy, performed by Ricardo Estape, MD

During the surgeries, viewers are encouraged to submit questions online or via Twitter (@BaptistHealthSF) to the surgical team, according to the release.
