Female physicians’ views on the evolving healthcare industry — 4 points

Female physicians are slightly more optimistic than male physicians about the current healthcare field, as reported in a Physicians Foundation survey.  However, female physicians are still concerned about certain elements of healthcare reform, according to Forbes.

Here are five points:

1.  Forty-one percent of female physicians are not sure about the structure and purpose of accountable care organizations.

2. A relatively small percentage of female physicians participate in exchanges and many are unsure whether the exchanges feature a restricted network of providers.

3. A reported 63.9 percent of female physicians gave the Affordable Care Act a passing grade.

4. Seventy-two percent of female physicians felt medicine is still a rewarding profession.
