Amherst, N.Y.-based Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare chose Compulink's Ophthalmology Advantage electronic health record system for its clinics and ambulatory surgery center.

Here are six quick points:

1. The eye center chose Compulink's EHR because of its "completeness in offering both optical and ASC modules," said Thomas R. Elmer, Jr., MD, partner at Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare.

3. The Ophthalmology Advantage system offers EHR, practice management, e-prescribing, an ASC module, optical POS and a patient portal.

4. Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare will also implement Compulink's ASC Advantage solutions, which is HIPAA compliant.

5. More than 10,000 providers use Compulink's solution.

6. The eye center employs nine providers and 70 employees.
