Dr. Erin Fogel going to Haiti on cataract surgery mission trip — 4 insights

Concord (N.H.) Eye Center ophthalmologist Erin Fogel, MD, is joining SEE International and the Friends of Haiti organization on a cataract surgery mission trip, The Concord Insider reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Dr. Fogel is one of several physicians going on the trip to perform cataract surgeries. Other physicians will teach surgical techniques to medical school residents on the island.

2. Dr. Fogel said, “I have been waiting a long time to do something like this. I’ve never been to Haiti but the desperate need of the people there makes it even more compelling to go and to do what I can to help.”

3. She hopes the trip can become an annual occurrence.

4. Concord Eye Center President Eliot Foley, MD, said, “All of us at the practice are very proud when our doctors perform these good works. We wish Erin the very best on her trip.”
