Hot Springs (Ark.) Cardiovascular Surgery Center added cardiovascular surgeon Daniel McCoy, MD, to its staff, The Sentinel-Record reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. After earning his medical degree from Charleston-based Medical University of South Carolina, he completed two residencies: one in general surgery at Jackson-based University of Mississippi and the other in thoracic surgery at Memphis-based University of Tennessee.

2. Dr. McCoy has practiced for nearly 30 years. He most recently practiced in Gadsden, Ala.

3. He specializes in performing open and minimally invasive surgeries.

4. Dr. McCoy said, “I am excited to work again with [center surgeon Dr. Edward] Warren, whom I’ve known for many years, and is a true pioneer in surgical services in the Hot Springs area.”
