Denver Health Medical Center loses 5 hospital leaders: 5 things to know

Following the appointment of a new CEO in 2012, at least five leaders have left Denver Health Medical Center, according to a Denver Post report.

Here are five things to know:

1. Gregory Jurkovich, MD, chief of surgery, and David Brody, MD, head of managed care, at the hospital both resigned.

2. Gregory Veltri, chief information and technology officer, left reportedly due to a disagreement about the hospital’s change of computer systems.

3. Richard Albert, chief of medicine, and Stephanie Thomas, COO, have both retired.

4. The hospital appointed interim directors to replace Dr. Jurkovich and Dr. Albert, and hopes to fill the empty positions this year.

5. The current CEO is Arthur Gonzalez claims that the loss of top leadership is part of “a normal course of turnover.”
