Beaufort Memorial cancels all hospital, ASC surgeries temporarily due to Hurricane Irma

Beaufort (S.C.) Memorial Hospital cancelled all surgeries scheduled at the hospital and its ASC through Sept. 12 or further notice, WSAV reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The hospital also closed its physician practice and stopped offering outpatient services as well as radiation therapy, chemotherapy and infusion services through Tuesday.

2. The hospital is keeping its emergency room open, but isn’t accepting new patients.

3. Since Sept. 7, the majority of the hospital’s patients have been transferred or discharged.

4. The hospital still has 19 admitted patients. The hospital has clinical and support personnel as well as security officers on staff.
