AmSurg honors veterans: 5 key notes

AmSurg saluted veterans on Veteran’s Day with a luncheon in their honor.

The company’s Employee Activities Team organized the event to thank their colleagues who are veterans, as well as all veterans, for their service.

Here are five key notes on AmSurg:

1. David Manning and Rodney Lunn co-founded AmSurg in 1986 as Practice Development Associates and grew to more than 75 centers by 1992.

2. AmSurg went public in December 1997 and reached 100 centers by 2002.

3. Chris Holden has been president and CEO since 2007. The company launched a multispecialty ASC acquisition strategy the same year.

4. Last year the company joined forces with Sheridan Healthcare to create a strong national presence in the marketplace.

5. The company’s ASCs are focused on eye and GI services.
