AmSurg acquires Northside Anesthesiology Consultants, Tenet updates outlook for 2015 revenue to $18.5B & more — 5 key notes on ASC companies


Here are five updates on ASC companies.

On Dec. 16, Sheridan, the physician services division of AmSurg, acquired Northside Anesthesiology Consultants, marking Sheridan's entry into the anesthesia specialty in Atlanta. Northside Anesthesiology Consultants is comprised of 60 physicians and is the sole provider of anesthesiology for Atlanta's Northside Hospital Healthcare System.

Surgical Care Affiliates CEO Andrew P. Hayek sold 6,679 shares of SCA stock in a recent transaction. The shares were sold at an average price of $38.50, for a total value of $257,141.

Tenet Healthcare expects to earn between $1.76 to $2.11 per share for the year. Tenet increased its revenue outlook for the year to between $18.35 billion to $18.55 billion.

During the week of Dec. 14 to Dec. 18, Hospital Corporation of America shares traded at $64.51 per share, down 2.7 percent.

During the third quarter, Medical Facilities Corp.'s surgical and pain management case counts at its centers grew by 2 percent and 8 percent, respectively.
