U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics ranked the following states based on the highest employment of registered nurses.

2. Texas — 198,650

3. New York — 171,880

4. Florida — 168,870

5. Pennsylvania — 136,090

Note: The total number of RNs are estimates for the detailed occupation that do not sum to the totals because the totals include occupations not shown separately. Estimates do not include self-employed workers.
