Here are five key notes:

1. California, Texas and Florida had the highest number of laparoscopy procedures.

2. In each of the above states, roughly a quarter of a million procedures were performed.

3. Over the last four years, the number of laparoscopic procedures has remained the same or increased across each leading state.

4. High rates of obesity in states like Texas lead to an increase in bariatric sleeve gastrectomy procedures.

5. Endosurgery had about 40 percent of the laparoscopic devices market share in 2014.
