The report includes responses from 13,575 physicians. The survey was conducted on behalf of The Physicians Foundation by Merritt Hawkins and completed in September 2012.
Physicians who had not installed EHRs in their practice where asked why they had not done so, and respondents reported the following:
• Do not have the money to install EHR — 33.6 percent
• Do not have the resources/expertise to install EHR — 26.9 percent
• Do not have the personnel to install EHR — 20.2 percent
• No time to install EHR — 19.3 percent
