2 shot near Memphis surgery center: 3 things to know

Two people were shot outside of Campbell Clinic in Memphis, according to Fox 13.

Here are three things to know:

1. A security guard and a center employee began arguing with one another. The employee then left the scene and returned with a gun.

2. A bystander called the police upon hearing shots. Fox News reports the employee and another person who was caught in the crossfire sustained gunshot injuries. The security guard was not injured.

3. In a statement, Campbell Clinic said, “We are thankful that no one was critically injured during the shooting near our surgery center in Midtown Memphis today. While we cannot comment on the details of an ongoing investigation, we are working closely with law enforcement and will assist them in any way we can. The safety of our patients and employees is our top priority.”
