The 10 best cities for physicians to buy a home in 2023 are all in the South, according to a Jan. 22 report from CNBC.

The National Association of Realtors analyzed 179 markets, taking into account several factors, including home affordability, job growth, migration trends and housing supply.  

While the median home price in the 10 top cities is not less than the national average of $398,500, cities scored highly on metrics including housing supply and job growth. 

Ten best metropolitan areas for physicians to buy a home in 2023, and the median home price: 

1. Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Marietta, Ga.: $371,200 

2. Raleigh, N.C.: $460,500 

3. Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Texas: $390,100

4. Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, Ark.: $328,400

5. Greenville, Anderson, Mauldin, S.C.: $335,400

6. Charleston, North Charleston, S.C.: $416,800 

7. Huntsville, Ala.: $327,500 

8. Jacksonville, Fla.: $398,000 

9. San Antonio, New Braunfels, Texas: $342,700 

10. Knoxville, Tenn.: $331,100
