Will Practice Management Systems Offer Dual Coding for ICD-10?

Dual coding will help providers take the step from ICD-9 to ICD-10 and serve the purpose of coding claims for HIPAA and non-HIPAA covered entities. Here are four statistics on whether or not physicians’ practice management systems will offer dual coding after Oct. 1, according to Medical Group Management Associations ICD-10 Implementation Study, January 2014.

•   Yes: 51.5 percent
•   No: 4.9 percent
•   Do not know: 42.2 percent
•   Not applicable: 1.4 percent
