Here are five key notes:
1. During the aforementioned time frame, the total number of active physicians increased almost 8 percent.
2. When the government enacted the ACA in 2010, there were 799,501 active physicians.
3. The number increased to 860,939 active physicians in 2015.
4. The two largest specialties, internal medicine and general practice, boast a more than 4 percent increase in the number of active physicians between 2010 and 2015.
5. A 2016 Physicians Foundation and Merritt Hawkins survey found, however, 48.3 percent of responding physicians are not satisfied with the ACA, giving the law a grade D or F.
