More than 575,000 North Carolina residents enrolled or re-enrolled in healthcare coverage since open enrollment started, according to WRAL.com.

1. Nine out of 10 people who enrolled for coverage in North Carolina received assistance to help pay for the health insurance.

2. Payers are facing some financial issues with the open enrollment period, claiming the Affordable Care Act is posing financial burdens.

3. Blue Cross Blue Shield cut commissions for insurance agents to counteract the financial issues.

4. United Healthcare and Coventry also changed commission policies.
