MGMA Identified Areas Where Better-Performing Practices Excel

The Medical Group Management Association released a report that said medical practices are deemed better-performing when they excel in specific performance management categories.

These categories include profitability and cost management; productivity, capacity and staffing; accounts receivable and collections; and patient satisfaction.

Better performing practices also reported lower total operating costs as a percentage of total medical revenue at a median of 53.85 percent, compared with 63.6 percent.

The data was father from 348 better-performing groups that participated in the survey.
