Humana executives sell $66.4M in company stock: 5 key notes

Louisville, Ky.-based Humana top executives sold a combined 323,648 company shares for $66.4 million Feb. 21, 2017, the Courier-Journal reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. Humana CEO Bruce Broussard and seven other executives sold their shares.

2. Humana stock hit $206.87 per share, Feb. 21, 2017.

3. If Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna acquired Humana, shareholders would have received up to $230 in cash for each of their shares.

4. Analysts expect Humana’s share to drop by $50 to $60 in the near future.

5. Humana spokesman told the Courier-Journal the executives “had limited opportunities to engage in stock transactions for the last two years owing to the Aetna transaction. Because of those limitations, some senior executives are now exercising options and/or selling stock for personal financial planning.”
