Highmark Continues to Address Part B Error Related to 21% Physician Fee Cut

HMS originally identified some claims with dates of service on or after April 1, 2010, received between April 1 and April 7 that were processed with the incorrect 21 percent reduction.  On April 15, 2010, President Obama extended the 0 percent update to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule through May 31.

According to HMS, “As adjustment claims finalize, please note that the additional payments will show on the Remittance Advice as a NET amount. The money previously paid will show as PREV PD and as a FB (Forwarding Balance) amount. These are not offsets.”

Updates will be provided at the HMS website.
