Health insurance exchange plan enrollment sees strong opening week: 3 quick facts

About 533,000 Americans enrolled for healthcare insurance on the federal insurance exchange, according to The Washington Post. The Department of Health and Human Services released enrollment statistics.

Here are three quick facts.

1. More Americans enrolled for health plans in the first week, compared to last year.

2. The newcomer enrollment numbers were lower, compared to 2014. There were about 37,000 less newcomers.

3. The statistics indicate many Hispanics are still not enrolling for health insurance. There was a one-third decrease in use of the Spanish-language version of HealthCare.gov.
