M*Modal and 3M have announced a technology collaboration aimed at improving clinical documentation for healthcare providers.
The companies are looking to improve electronic coding, billing and documentation. M*Modal will integrate its speech understanding technology into 3M's 360 Encompass System to create a cloud-based, computer-assisted coding system with quality metrics and a unified data workflow.
3M Health Information Systems Senior Vice President JaeLynn Williams called the alliance a way to "bring greater value to client organizations" and allow clients to "see the benefits of their technology investment much more quickly," according to the release.
