Armand Ntchana, an advanced practice registered nurse and owner of multiple healthcare entities, agreed to pay more than $614,427 to resolve allegations that he submitted false claims, according to an Aug. 12 news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut.

What happened?

  • From January 2016 through October 2020, Mr. Ntchana and his psychiatric medication management practice, Integrated Procare Services in Wethersfield, Conn., allegedly billed Medicare and Connecticut Medicaid for services not rendered, services performed by an unlicensed provider and upcoded claims.
  • Mr. Ntchana allegedly submitted claims listing himself as the provider when he did not actually provide the services, including during times when he was out of the office, on vacation or out of the country.
  • Additionally, Mr. Ntchana allegedly billed for patient visits conducted by an unlicensed individual and submitted claims for both evaluation and management services and psychotherapy during the same visit when only evaluation and management services were provided.
