CMS Suggests Providers Begin ICD-10 Front-End Testing in October

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recommends providers, suppliers, billing companies and clearinghouses to begin ICD-10 front-end testing in October, according to a Health Data Management report.

Medicare is scheduled to update its systems Oct. 6. All stakeholders are able to submit acknowledgement test claims at anytime, but CMS advices waiting until after the systems updates.

Neil Brennan, acting director of the CMS Offices for Enterprise Management, recommended stakeholders contact their local Medicare Administrative Contractor for additional information, according to the report.
