CMS Publishes Coding Guidance for Medicare-Covered Preventative Services

CMS has published a three-page chart providing coding guidance for Medicare preventive services.

The chart identifies the service, provides applicable HCPCS/CPT and ICD-CM codes, identifies who is covered, how frequently the service is covered and what the Medicare beneficiary should pay for the service.

 

Services addressed in this chart — “Quick Reference Information: Preventive Services” — include the following:

  • Colorectal cancel screening
  • Prostate cancer screening
  • Glaucoma screening
  • Screening mammography
  • Diabetes screening tests
