Prior to testing, study your practice’s workflow; identify when you can run test claims with ICD-10; and plan to prioritize and sequence tasks that support critical claim submitting paths.

Testing should verify that your information systems can store the expanded structure of ICD-10 codes and qualifiers. It should also verify that edits and business rules based on ICD-9-CM codes work correctly with ICD-10, according to the report.
