Here are six major updates from Cigna in the last 30 days:

1. Beginning in January 2026, The Cigna Group and CVS will offer discounted infertility medications through TrumpRx. Cigna’s Evernorth pharmacies — Freedom Fertility and VFP Pharmacy Group — will dispense EMD Serono’s Gonal-f, Cetrotide and Ovidrel at the lowest available cash price. The pharmacies operate in all 50 states and have dispensed fertility drugs for more than 30 years.

2. Cigna has agreed to pay $5.7 million to settle a class-action lawsuit alleging “ghost network” practices, according to October federal court filings in Illinois. Plaintiffs Andrew and Andrea Hecht claimed that in 2021, they received out-of-network bills from a hospital that Cigna had represented as in-network. After paying the expected in-network amount, the hospital sought the balance, negatively affecting the family’s credit.

3. Louisville, Ky.-based Norton Healthcare and Norton Children’s will stay in network with Cigna Healthcare. The partnership was initially set to end on Sept. 8, but both sides agreed to extend the contract, which officially remained in effect as of Oct. 1.

4. As of Oct. 1, Cigna is back in network  with Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Health Care System. The agreement gives Cigna commercial plan members access to two acute-care hospitals, outpatient and urgent care centers, and providers within First Physicians Group.

5. Although Cigna launched its new downcoding policy on Oct. 1, the insurer has temporarily delayed implementing it for California HMO plans. The policy allows Cigna to reduce reimbursement for certain higher-level evaluation and management codes — including 99204-99205, 99214-99215 and 99244-99245 — if they do not meet complexity criteria. Following questions about the policy’s legality, it is now under review by the California Department of Managed Health Care.

6. The Cigna Group named Eva Borden as chief product officer for its commercial insurance division. A 25-year Cigna veteran, Borden has held several leadership roles and has served as president of behavioral health at Evernorth since 2020. She will continue in that role alongside her new position.
