The company is expected to have the system up and running by late 2013. The system will allow residents of the state and small businesses to purchase medical coverage and determine whether they can obtain federal healthcare subsidies.
The California Health Benefit Exchange intends to begin enrollment on Oct. 1, 2013. The enrollment would enlist patients in coverage that would become effective in January 2014.
