Blue Cross Blue Shield Renewed as North Carolina State Claims Processor

State Treasurer Janet Cowell announced this week that Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina will continue to be the system’s claims processor until at least 2016, according to Biz Journals.

The health plan covers 663,000 government employees, and the state paid BCBS $118.3 million this fiscal years. The terms of the new contract have not been released.

The healthcare company beat out Minnesota-based United Healthcare to win renewal.
