Anthem quelled fears it would leave Indianapolis behind to relocate to its new Atlanta-based technology center by announcing a $20 million expansion, the IndyStar reports.
Here's what you should know.
1. In January, Anthem announced it would not renew a lease on its Monument Circle offices, opting to move the employees that work there to the Virginia Ave., location. The same month, Anthem announced its Atlanta expansion creating the relocation rumors.
2. Anthem CEO Gail Boudreaux squashed those fears saying, "Indianapolis has been Anthem’s home since our company was founded nearly 75 years ago. Our employees live and work here, and we are part of the community."
3. The expansion will allow Anthem to house 2,600 employees in its Indianapolis headquarters.
