Here are five things to know:
1. Founded in 2005, HealthSun now includes more than 40,000 consumers in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. The company has 19 wholly-owned primary care and specialty centers.
2. HealthSun provides pharmacy support, transportation services, a dedicated network of physician specialists and integrated medical cost management services to customers.
3. Post-acquisition, HealthSun will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anthem and the company’s associates will join the Anthem Government Business Division.
4. Anthem’s affiliated Medicare and Medicaid plans will serve more than 650,000 customers in Florida after the transaction. The company hopes to simplify the healthcare experience and create a unique integrated delivery system as a result of the acquisition.
5. Financial terms were not disclosed for the transaction. Anthem expects the acquisition to be slightly accretive to 2018 earnings.
