An all time low — High premiums, copays driving health insurance dissatisfaction

An American Customer Satisfaction Index report found consumers’ satisfaction with health insurance providers reached a 10-year low, according to Market Watch.

The report surveyed 9,200 randomly selected consumers.

Here are five points:

1. Of the nearly 43 industries ACSI ranks, health insurance companies rank in the bottom five.

2. Consumers with individual policies were more satisfied than those with group policies.

3. Various factors such as high premiums, deductibles and copays as well as slow claims processing cause dissatisfaction.  

4. Additionally, many consumers are confused about what is and what is not covered by payers.

5. The average deductible for employees is $1,077, a 67 percent increase from 2010.
