“No one is spending enough time researching their benefits,” Aflac’s Chief Human Resources Officer Matthew Owenby said.
2. According to the report, 24 percent of 18- to 36-year-old Americans indicated they didn’t spend enough time researching their health insurance options. 50 percent blamed running out of a time, or too short of an enrollment period for the lack of attention.
3. Between 18- to 36-year-old Americans, 28 percent said they’d rather go a full day without access to the internet or social media than enroll in healthcare.
4. Of all employees, 72 percent said reading about benefits is “long, complicated or stressful.” That feeling leads to 93 percent of all employees choosing the same option annually. That lack of research equates to 54 percent spending more on insurance than what they actually utilized.
