AAFP Joins Protest Against ICD-10 Switch

The American Academy of Family Physicians is the latest organization to join the American Medical Association and other physician groups in protesting the implementation of ICD-10, according to the Journal of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants.

The groups maintain the code set switch would be an unnecessary, additional burden amidst an onslaught of other regulation deadlines. They are also calling for a dismissal of the financial penalties, which will go into effect after October 2014.
