More than 60 percent of physician practices responding to a Part B News survey had identified resources, created a project plan and contacted vendors in their preparations for ICD-10, according to a Medical Economics report.

•    34 percent said they would have been ready for the initial deadline, but are glad to have the additional time
•    31 percent said they were disappointed
•    20 percent said they were frustrated because physicians will now put off training
•    13.5 percent said they were happy because they would have been ready

What will physician practices do now that the delay is official?

•    More than half will reset their ICD-10 preparation timeline
•    22 percent will continue with their current plan
•    6 percent will create an entirely new plan
