66% of physicians receieve reimbursement through APMs: 4 things to know

A recent survey polling 866 U.S. physicians found most providers receive reimbursement through alternative payment models, according to healthcare informatics.

Here are four things to know:

1. Sixty-six percent of respondents said they received reimbursement through alternative payment models based on their quality, cost and patient outcomes.

2. Most providers said real-world evidence drove their decision making, followed by clinical trial data.

3. Half of physicians said digital communication channels were their preferred communication method.

4. Based on these findings, the authors advise pharmaceutical companies invest in digital communication channels and solutions that input pharmaceutical information into EHRs and clinical decision support systems to engage physicians.
