3 updates on healthcare price transparency

Price transparency in healthcare is a steadily growing trend. Here are three updates on the move towards shedding light on costs.

•    A recent study found that price transparency, if supported by lasting patient utilization, could lower healthcare costs by as much as 14 percent.
•    Vitals, a physician rating platform, acquired price transparency company Compass Healthcare Advisers. With the acquisition, Vitals’ rating system will be combined with the price transparency platform.
•    Six endoscopy centers and two ambulatory surgery centers joined the price transparency platform Pricing Healthcare, which includes pricing information from 14 states.
