Here are the 2010 CMS reimbursement rates for five GERD-related upper endoscopy procedures in the ASC setting.

1. Esophagoscopy, rigid or flexible; diagnostic, with or without collection of specimen(s) by brushing or washing (separate procedure) (CPT 43200) — $342.42

2. Esophagoscopy, rigid or flexible; with biopsy, single or multiple (CPT 43202) — $342.42

3. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy including esophagus, stomach and either the duodenum and/or jejunum as appropriate; diagnostic, with or without collection of specimen(s) by brushing or washing (separate procedure) (CPT 43235) — $342.42

4. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy including esophagus, stomach, and either the duodenum and/or jejunum as appropriate; with biopsy, single or multiple (CPT 43239) — $369.45

5. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy including esophagus, stomach and either the duodenum and/or jejunum as appropriate; with delivery of thermal energy to the muscle of lower esophageal sphincter and/or gastric cardia, for treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (CPT 43257) — $851.18
