The Joint Commission appoints 5 new board members

The Joint Commission and the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare appointed new board members.

The new members of the board of commissioners are:

1. Jay Allen Gregory, DO, appointed by the American Medical Association
2. Scott Maloney, FACHE, appointed by the American Hospital Association
3. Najmedin Meshkati, PhD, appointed as a public member
4. Joseph J. Parks, MD, appointed as a member-at-large
5. Michael B. Simon, MD, appointed by the American Medical Association

James D. Englebright, PhD, of HCA and Steven Sharfstein, MD, were named to the Joint Commission’s Executive Committee and the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare’s board of directors. Dr. Englebright was appointed as a member-at-large and Dr. Sharfstein was appointed by the American Medical Association.
