ASC Accreditation, Licensure & Medicare Certification

Powder River Surgery Center in Gillette, Wyo., has become the first clinic in the state to receive Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming's "Blue Circle of Excellence" designation for hip and knee replacements. 

The orthopedic surgery center affiliated with Des Moines, Iowa-based DMOS Orthopaedic Centers, Ankeny Medical Park Surgery Center & UnityPoint Health has earned the AAAHC advanced ortho certification accreditation, news station WHO reported Oct. 21. 

Sayre, Pa.-based Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital’s bariatric ASC was recognized by the Aetna Institutes of Quality, the Morning Times reported Aug. 23.

The Knoxville (Tenn.) Ophthalmology ASC won the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care's 2021-22 Bernard A. Kershner Surgical/Procedural Care award.

Best Surgery & Therapies, a spine and orthopedic ASC in Cincinnati, has been awarded accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

Surgery Center South in Dothan, Ala., earned the HeartSafe workplace designation, a certification given to workplaces that have employees trained to specifically combat sudden cardiac arrest, local news source the Dothan Eagle reported May 26. 

Resident physician-reported medical errors and adverse events dropped by more than a third after physician work hours were limited to no more than 16 in a row, according to a study recently published in BMJ Quality & Safety.
