ASC Accreditation, Licensure & Medicare Certification

Resident physician-reported medical errors and adverse events dropped by more than a third after physician work hours were limited to no more than 16 in a row, according to a study recently published in BMJ Quality & Safety.

Parker, Colo.-based Milestone Surgical Center earned accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

A recent survey by patient safety watchdog group Leapfrog shows patients prefer ASCs to hospital outpatient departments.

Here are eight ASCs that received accreditations or awards in the first quarter:

Browns Mills, N.J.-based Deborah Heart and Lung Center was awarded multiple three-star ratings from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, nj.com reported March 16.

Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based Athenix Body Sculpting Institute earned accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care for each of its five ASCs.
