Joint Commission, National Quality Forum give 3 patient safety, quality awards

The Joint Commission and National Quality Forum awarded the John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Awards.

The awards will be presented on March 23, 2015 in Washington, D.C. The three award winners are:

1. Mark L. Graber, MD, FACP, senior fellow, Health Care Quality and Outcomes Program for RTI International for Individual Achievement.

2. American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program for the Innovation in Patient Safety and Quality at the National Level.

3. North Shore-LIJ Health System for the Innovation in Patient Safety and Quality at the Local Level for work reducing sepsis mortality.
